ABOUT US

FAQ's

  • How does Forté Asset Management make money?
We are fee-only fiduciaries, and our compensation comes solely from the fees our clients pay for our investment management services. We are transparent in our fee structure and receive no commission or other compensation for any of the products our clients choose. When you do better, we do better.
  • What is Forté Asset Management?
Forté Asset Management is a boutique investment advisory firm located in Bedford, NY. Forté was founded in 2004 in response to what we saw as a void within the investment advisory landscape. It is our belief that clients deserve better than the opaque, conflicted practices prevalent at most large brokerage firms, banks and trust companies. At Forté Asset Management, our mission is clear: to address the long-term goals of our clients and their families with customized wealth management solutions delivered with the utmost integrity, transparency and commitment to the fiduciary standard. Fully embracing the fiduciary standard, Forté offers a new model that melds deep commitment to client relationships with superior resources, sophisticated wealth advisory services and investment acumen. Driven by our clients’ best interests at all times, Forté delivers customized, highly tailored and experience-based service to our valued clients.
  • What is your investment philosophy?
For the past 20 years, Forté has strived to understand our clients’ individualized investment goals and objectives to best meet their needs. We establish and allocate our accounts strategically and tactically generally utilizing low-cost, passive securities with a focus on tax-efficiency to allow our clients’ portfolios to grow over time, while managing unforeseen downside risk.
  • What are Forté Asset Management's core principles?
The core principles of our portfolio management approach are diversification, downside protection, risk-adjusted performance and tax efficiency. Our belief is that you benefit from a detailed process that results in a wealth management strategy addressing all aspects of your financial position. We then leverage and customize those strategies and solutions to provide our clients with a focused, boutique-level experience.
  • How will I access my account?
You will be able to view your account directly at Fidelity.com or through our secure client access portal. In addition, we will supply you with regular reports on performance in language you can understand.
  • How does Forté Asset Management develop investment strategies?
Each client portfolio is tailored to a client’s individual financial situation, goals, risk tolerance, investment and tax objectives. For these reasons, we do not have audited performance histories of our clients’ investment strategies. We utilize various investment strategies and may buy, sell or hold some of the same investments for many of our clients but in differing allocations.
  • How do I know my assets will be secure?
The safety and security of your assets is our main priority. As a registered investment advisor (RIA), we are required to hold all client assets with a third-party custodian. After an extensive due diligence process, we chose Fidelity Investments (“Fidelity”) to fill that role. Fidelity has more than 60 years of experience serving independent advisors and was a pioneer in recognizing and serving the needs of independent, fee-based investment advisors and their clients.
  • What can I expect if I choose to work with Forté Asset Management?
We are committed to providing you with solutions that will help you meet your financial objectives. While we have a business relationship with our clients, it’s also deeply personal. To help achieve outcomes that you find meaningful, we will analyze and evaluate your circumstances, and listen carefully to what you say (and may not say). Your financial life is complicated with lots of moving pieces, and we want to understand them all. As an independent firm we are free from the potential conflicts of interest that could arise when working with a firm that manufactures and sells its own financial products while also providing clients with investment advice. This allows us to provide a much wider range of solutions to assist our clients in creating comprehensive financial plans and investment portfolios, as well as devising strategies for preserving and transferring their wealth. We welcome the responsibility of acting as a fiduciary because everything we wish to achieve begins with putting our clients’ interests first.
  • What does “discretion” mean?
An investment advisor may be given investment discretion by you to decide which securities to purchase, sell and retain in your portfolio without having to verbally confirm each transaction with you. Discretion is important for us to make timely investment strategy changes.
  • What type of investments does Forté use?
Client portfolios are primarily invested in Exchange Traded Funds (“ETFs”). An ETF is a basket of securities that trades on an exchange just like a stock does. ETFs represent a cost-effective and tax efficient way to gain exposure to a broad basket of securities.
  • What does it mean that Forté Asset Management is a fiduciary?
According to the IRS “a fiduciary is a person who owes a duty of care and trust to another and must act primarily for the benefit of the other in a particular activity.” Financial advisors who aren’t fiduciaries often receive commissions on the investments they sell. Forté Asset Management receives no such compensation. As a SEC registered investment advisor, Forté Asset Management has an obligation to serve our clients’ best interests and disclose any material conflicts of interest. We understand that trust, advocacy and transparency are essential to any long-term relationship. As a firm, we want our success to be fully aligned with that of our clients.
